Cracked Teeth

DO YOU HAVE A CRACKED TOOTH?

Cracked teeth demonstrate a wide variety of symptoms, including pain when chewing, temperature sensitivities, or even the of biting pressure.  It is also common for the pain to come and go, making it difficult to diagnose the cause of discomfort.

Some common types of cracks are superficial and require no intervention while other cracks can eventually lead to loss of your tooth.  The movement along the crack can irritate the nerve of the tooth, resulting in sharp pain.  If cracks and fractures are left untreated they can allow bacteria from your saliva to penetrate the tooth and cause infection.

Dr. Soriano will thoroughly evaluate your tooth to determine if endodontic treatment is necessary.  Sometimes a fractured tooth will only need the added protection of a crown, which would be done by your dentist.
